Aburrá Valley is a
region localized in Antioquia department in Colombia. It's conformed of the
Medellín city, the small cities Bello and Itagüí and the towns Caldas, La
Estrella and Sabaneta in the south; Barbosa, Girardota and Copacabana in the
north.
“The name "Aburrá"
comes from an ancient language spoken in the place by the Aburreans
(Aburraes) before the Spaniards arrived the place about 1504” (Wikipedya
“”).
People there is very
affable and collaborative, though there are some parts of the city that you
can’t walk with total tranquility because of social problems, above all in
periferic neighborhoods, but never mind it.
Main town
Aburrá Valley has a
simple architecture. Most of the houses are building with conventional red
brick both in the city and in the towns.
In last years the number of visitors has been increas
as too the numbers of foreign residents has increased significantly.
