ABURRA VALLEY

Nice place to visit

Aburrá Valley is a region’s Antioquia department in Colombia. It consists of the Medellín city, the small cities Bello and Itagüí and the towns Caldas, La Estrella and Sabaneta in the south; Barbosa, Girardota and Copacabana in the north.
“The name "Aburrá" comes from an ancient language spoken in the place by the Aburreans (Aburraes) before the Spaniards arrived the place about 1504”  (Wikipedya “”).

Main town

Aburra Valley is a beautiful region worth knowing. Main city is Medellín. It’s the most organized and progressist city in Colombia in last fifteen years.

People there is very affable and collaborative, though there are some parts of the main city that are not very accessible because of social problems, above all in periferic neighborhoods.

Aburrá Valley has a simple architecture. The vast majority of houses are building with conventional red brick both the main city and towns.
